Code of
Conduct

The foundation of trust, respect, and meaningful connection that defines NC Social Society.

Our Commitment to Safety & Trust

NC Social Society is committed to creating an environment where every member feels safe, respected, and valued. Our Code of Conduct reflects our core values of dignity, respect, and meaningful connection. By joining our community, you agree to uphold these standards.

Respect & Dignity

Treat all members and staff with dignity and respect at all times. Every person in our community deserves to be treated as a valued human being, not as a means to an end. We embrace diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences.

Boundaries & Consent

Always respect personal boundaries and obtain clear consent in all interactions. No means no. Accept "no" gracefully without pressure, guilt, or repeated requests. Respect the right of any member to decline interaction or connection at any time.

Zero Tolerance for Harassment

NC Social Society has zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct of any kind. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Unwanted advances or inappropriate physical contact
  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, or discriminatory remarks
  • Stalking or following members to other venues or online
  • Sharing private information without consent
  • Any behavior that makes others feel unsafe or uncomfortable

Privacy & Confidentiality

Respect the privacy and confidentiality of fellow members. What happens at NC Social Society events stays at NC Social Society events. Do not share personal information about members—including names, contact details, or details of interactions—without explicit permission.

Photography & Social Media

Photography at events requires consent. Do not photograph or record other members without explicit permission. If posting photos from events, ensure no member is identified or tagged without their consent. Our social media guidelines must be followed at all times.

Guest Behavior

Members are responsible for the behavior of their guests. Ensure your guests understand and follow our Code of Conduct. Guests must be accompanied by the member who invited them and must adhere to all community standards.

Dress Code & Venue Guidelines

Respect event dress codes and venue guidelines. Events specify attire expectations—please adhere to them. Follow venue rules, respect staff, and maintain appropriate behavior in all spaces associated with NC Social Society.

Enforcement & Removal Rights

NC Social Society reserves the right to remove any member or guest for violation of this Code of Conduct, at our sole discretion, without refund. Violations may result in:

  • Formal warning
  • Suspension from events
  • Permanent membership revocation
  • Reporting to appropriate authorities if warranted
